Melvin Suhd has spent his working life in both progressive education and humanistic psychology He has taught, consulted and administered at various schools and universities, including Cal State, Berkeley, Laurence University, and Eastern Michigan University. Acclaimed as "the father of individualized reading", he helped design the first HeadStart classroom in the country. After his theory of pluralism in education gained recognition in the 1970's, he helped design and direct the country's first external master's degree program, at Goddard College, and then the first University Without Walls. He now heads University for Integrative Learning. In addition to these accomplishments, in 1975, Mr. Suhd founded the Association for the Integration of the Whole Person, a non-denominational religious organization dedicated to serve the community in matters of mind and spirit. Its mission is to ensure that "spiritual persons, prepared to serve their communities, can do so psychologically and educationally in ways that ensure the blessings of self-empowerment, leading to peace for persons of good will". There
are over 1000 AIWP ordained members in service, serving the community worldwide.
One such person is Nasser Zaghi (zaghibiography).
Over several years of contact with Nasser, both Mel and his colleague, Kate, began
to see in the businessman a person that had much to share regarding the reaching
of individual happiness and world peace. Mel continues to encourage and motivate
Nasser to create a world outreach effort with the purpose of bringing peace to
the world and happiness to individuals, and intends to be a supporter and facilitator
of the practical work of Love is the Solution.
