Love in Action

Food for Thought

Two dear friends who had known each other for many years, had a serious falling-out over a business transaction. Neither would speak to the other. In fact, one of them heatedly declared that he would "kill" the other. As animosity grew, a mutual friend, concerned about their loss of friendshp insisted that they meet, just for a coffee, and speak nothing of business. He told them about the principles of acceptance and fariness, and asked that they do their best to reconcile. After much resistance to this idea, they both reluctantly agreed, but only to accommodate their mutual friend. All three met for coffee the following week. One of the two former friends began to speak about a business-related matter, but was hushed by the mutual friend who reminded him that there was no business talk allowed. After an hour or so, the three parted. The mutual friend waited a day or so, then called one of the others to see how he felt about the meeting. The friend said, "Yes, something must be working, because before the meeting I wanted to kill him and now I just want to break his legs!"

It's progress. There will be more progress as each of these individuals learns to apply the principles of Love is the Solution.
